Launch
Pad Job Club
I volunteered to assist a local nonprofit reassess their web design.
I focused on what the board president considered to be the most
important aspects for the purpose of the web site I was able to
identify three distinct categories for that information and designed
a layout that I thought would be more attractive and accessible
and would help guide the user traffic deeper into the web site
faster. The president was pleased with my design and it was presented
to the web work group.

Records, and redesigned the company identity. The web site needed
to be revamped. We decided to retire the old site completely and

Health
Squared
I was contracted to manage Health Squared, an alternative health
care network, in October of 2005. Their web site was in immediate
need of updating. Leaving the original design and layout intact,
I made the following changes:
-- Changed the type style to a larger sans-serif font to add a
more streamlined look
-- Added different font styling for the Benefits page for a bit
of visual excitement
-- Added the News feature on the index or "Home" page
-- Created additional navigation buttons
-- Set up a PayPal account and added credit card transaction capability
to the web site
-- Updated the contact information for all the vendors in the
network
-- Added links to their external web sites within their individual
listings
-- Placed the site on the host server
-- Identified and coded keywords and descriptions to enhance search
engine visibility
-- Registered the site with a number of search engine listings
and directories
-- Monitored web site traffic to determine the most effective
search engine optimization

U.T.
College of Pharmacy
Department of Pharmaceutics
Computer Assisted Drug Design Laboratory
Dr. Robert Pearlman, the director of the CADD laboratory, enlisted
me to help conceptualize a web site by which he could provide
the general public more information about the department, the
CADD laboratory's extraordinary work, and provide his research
partners and laboratory staff a secured means for remote collaboration.
We were able to identify users of the site and potential uses
for the site upon our initial consultation. Subsequently, I designed
a three tiered web site for the CADD laboratory. Tier 1, or the
"Burnt Orange" tier was intended for interaction with
the general public and student body. Accessible here was information
regarding software in development and in distribution, recruitment
announcements for computer programmers, news and general information
regarding the department and the laboratory. Tier 2, or the "Green
Tier" was designed for the use of industry professionals
who would be collaborating, testing, purchasing and distributing
software. Tier 3, or "The Blue Tier" was designed for
the use of laboratory personnel for remote work and testing.
I created the first level of the web site design, demonstrating
layout and type style for the site. Each subsequent tier would
use the same layout and type style but would have a different
color scheme. Upon approval of the site design, I turned the build-out
of the design over to a third party due to the level of security
that was to be implemented in the server-side programming. I oversaw
the selection of the third party, handled the contract and scope
of work, and oversaw the final build-out of the site.
